Trained by Jacques Grimbert and with a Master’s degree in musicology from the Sorbonne, Delphine Haidan won an opera prize at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris and several prizes in international competitions. She then entered the lyric art school of the Opéra national de Paris, and was engaged by the Opera in Peer Gynt under the direction of Neeme Järvi and Stravinsky’s Les Noces.
In 1998, she was selected for the Victoires de la musique classique awards. That same year, she sang the role of Mallika in Léo Delibes’ opera Lakmé, alongside Nathalie Dessay (Lakmé) and under the direction of Michel Plasson.
Delphine Haidan is an accomplished artist whose career is divided between opera and recital. She has taken part in numerous productions at the Opéra de Paris, including Carmen (Mercedes), Les Contes d’Hoffmann (La Muse-Nicklausse), Don Giovanni (Zerlina), L’Enfant et les Sortilèges (La Chatte – l’Ecureuil).
She also appeared at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Opéra Comique, Capitole de Toulouse, Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux, Opéra National du Rhin and Grand Théâtre de Tours.
At the same time, her career developed abroad: Glyndebourne Festival, Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, Maestranza in Seville, Royal Albert Hall in London, Dresden, Tel-Aviv, Lisbon, Barcelona, Ghent, Antwerp, Brussels, Rotterdam, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Moscow, Tokyo and Bogota, and recently Seattle and La Scala in Milan.
Recently, she sang the role of Anna (Les Troyens) conducted by Francois-Xavier Roth with the Orchestre des Siècles at the Festival Berlioz, and Filipievna (Eugène Oneguine) at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées, directed by Stéphane Braunschweig.
Her latest recording “Deux Mezzos sinon rien” (Klarthe) with Karine Deshayes, awarded a CHOC Classica.
