Writing and composing outside the curriculum

The writing classes consist of the following disciplines:

• Harmony

• Counterpoint

• Fugue

• Orchestration

Each of these disciplines must be taken individually. The duration of study for each class varies from 1 to 3 years, depending on the level attained or the students’ personal objectives (preparation for conservatory entrance examinations, perfecting writing techniques for composition or conducting, etc.). A certificate can be awarded on examination in each discipline.
