Korean concert pianist Heyoung Park, a graduate of Seoul National University, obtained the Diplôme Supérieur de Concertiste from the École Normale de Musique de Paris in 1997, in the class of Germaine Mounier (1920~2006). She is thus heir to the tradition handed down by this great representative of the French piano school. In 2006, she became Professor at the École Normale de Musique de Paris / Alfred Cortot.
Heyoung Park performs as soloist, chamber musician and with orchestra in Seoul, Moscow, Atlanta, Salzburg, Rhodes and Shanghai in prestigious venues. She is particularly fond of thematic recitals with evocative titles: “Impressionism and Expressionism” “Belle Epoque”, etc.
In 2012, to mark the 150th anniversary of Debussy’s birth, she was invited to give a masterclass at the Vienna Hochschule für Musik, and numerous concert-lectures at universities in Korea, which ended up in a DVD recording: “Pianisme de Debussy”.
Founder and artistic director of the Paris Music Forum association, she directed the “SUNRISING” concert series at the Centre Culture Coréen in Paris, given by promising young musicians.
President of the jury for the Osaka International Music Competition semi-finals (Paris and Seoul), Heyoung Park is a regular guest on juries for international competitions, including Sofia, Rhodes, Casablanca and Leopold Bellan in Paris.
In 2019, she founded the Académie et Thêatre PMF Jayang Station in Seoul to enable artists and musicians to perform in concert.
She is a piano teacher at the École Normale de Musique de Paris and teaches in Seoul.
