The Organ Class

The Organ Class at the School offers an exceptional training program, allowing students to refine their skills on a unique organ located in the Church of Saint-Étienne-du-Mont. This distinctive setting, coupled with the expertise of the prestigious titular organist Vincent Warnier, provides an ideal environment for students wishing to develop their technique and interpretation at the highest level. Specializing in organ practice, this class is only accessible starting from the 2nd advanced cycle, allowing students to benefit from in-depth instruction and a highly personalized approach.
Students explore both classical and contemporary repertoires while learning to master liturgical and concert performance. The courses focus on technique, virtuosity, accompaniment, and mastery of the organ within both historical and contemporary contexts. The opportunity to work on an exceptional organ is a significant advantage, offering students the chance to become familiar with a complex instrument while refining their listening skills and musical responsiveness.
The training includes supplementary teaching units, some mandatory and others optional, depending on the chosen programs. This flexibility allows students to structure their studies while maintaining high standards. Study equivalencies can also be granted, providing recognition for prior learning and offering some flexibility in their path.
The courses mainly take place at the Church of Saint-Étienne-du-Mont, a prestigious venue that offers a total immersion in organ practice under optimal conditions. This exceptional setting, combined with high-level instruction, prepares students for a career as concert organists, organists, or professors, in a rich and professional environment.
